Jeannine Pitas

Jeannine M. Pitas first decided to become vegetarian as a child after seeing the 1995 Chris Noonan film Babe, which made her aware for the first time of the realities and cruelties of factory farming. She followed through on a commitment to vegetarianism at eighteen, more than half her life ago, and aspires to veganism.

A professor at Saint Vincent College and a freelance writer/journalist, she sees clear links between her Catholic faith and concern for animal rights.
