Caring for Creation Fact Sheet: Glue Traps & Alternatives

Care for God’s creatures with this simple, straightforward change at your home, school, or parish. Advocate against the use of cruel glue traps and choose humane, sustainable alternatives instead.

This small change for humans can spare animals from unimaginable suffering and slow deaths. Glue traps cause immense, prolonged suffering to small animals, ensnaring any small creature who wanders across their path. From mice to birds, bats to lizards, and more, glue traps wreak havoc on small creatures.

There has been a growing movement against these torturous devices. Several other countries have glue trap bans, several U.S. cities have discontinued their sale and/or use, and hundreds of entities like Walgreens, Target and more than 100 airports have stopped selling and/or using these.

Share this fact sheet with others in your community, and let your pest control operator know not to use glue traps in your building.
